Moazzum Bajwa, MD, MPH, an associate clinical professor in family medicine for the UC Riverside School of Medicine, has been named the California Academy of Family Physicians 2024 Family Physician of the Year.

Bajwa is the director of the school's Longitudinal Ambulatory Care Experience (LACE) and sees patients at the UCR Community Clinic at Hulen Place as well as Riverside University Health System (RUHS). He was honored at the annual CAFP Family Medicine Prism of Practice Conference on August 23-25, 2024 at the Hilton Orange County in Costa Mesa.

The award recognizes a family physician "who represents the finest characteristics of the specialty."

"This is a total team recognition: I wouldn't have the opportunity to work with my amazing patients, colleagues, and students without the support from UCR and RUHS," Bajwa said.
