Gulati Receives Pair of Recognitions from California Senate

Physician is honored for his dedicated service as a physician, educator, and mentor

Rajesh “Robby” Gulati, MD, MACP, has recently received a pair of certificates of recognition from California State Senator Tony Strickland (36th District) in recognition of his service as a physician, educator, and mentor.

Gulati serves as the senior associate dean of the UC Riverside School of Medicine’s Department of Graduate Medical Education as well as a professor in and interim chair of the UCR SOM Department of Medicine. Away from the clinic and classroom, Gulati is a frequent participant in medical education and entertainment events hosted by the Indo American Cultural Society of North America (IACSNA), the Gujarati Society of Southern California (GSSC), and the Indo-American Senior Heritage (IASH). He has presented on medical topics as well as performed for audiences across Southern California.

“I am always happy to serve the community," Gulati said. “The respect and affection that these organizations have shown inspires me to contribute to their mission.”

In July, 2026, Gulati was recognized for his "extraordinary generosity, unparalleled talent, and unwavering dedication, demonstrated through (his) selfless sharing of (his) medical expertise and musical gifts to educate, uplift, and entertain the senior community of Southern California.”

“On behalf of the State of California and the California State Senate, thank you for your outstanding service and meaningful contributions,” the certificate concluded.

Then, in October, 2026, he received a second recognition that read, in part, “Through nearly three decades of dedicated service as a physician, educator, and mentor, you have helped shape the next generation of healthcare professionals while providing compassionate care to your patients. Beyond medicine, your lifelong passion for music and performance reflects the remarkable breadth of your talents. Thank you for your continued dedication to healing, teaching, and inspiring others.”
