School of Medicine Appoints Khiet D. Ngo, DO, MS, as Associate Dean of Clinical Skills Education and Innovation

UCR grad returns to his alma mater

The UCR School of Medicine has announced the appointment of Khiet D. Ngo, DO, MS, as the new associate dean of clinical skills education and innovation, effective September 5, 2023.

Ngo comes to UCR from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he was most recently the associate dean for curricular innovations and an assistant professor of medical education. He also served as a member of the Continuous Quality and Process Improvement Committee and the school’s LCME Accreditation Committee.

“Dr. Ngo’s vision for innovation and his dedication to medical education, especially in the fields of OSCE and simulation, will help grow our medical education program here at the UCR School of Medicine,” said Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences and the Mark and Pam Rubin Dean of the School of Medicine Deborah Deas, MD, MPH. “We are happy to welcome him back to his alma mater.”

In his new role, Ngo will serve as the medical director of the Center for Simulated Patient Care (CSPC), overseeing the doctoring, clinical skills, case-based learning curricula, and standardized patient programs.

He holds a doctor of osteopathic medicine from NOVA Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and a master of science in biochemistry from UCR. He completed his residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology. He has also completed coursework in research design and statistical analysis at UCLA.
